Course Rules


Local Rules
To be read in conjunction with the rules of golf and any temporary local rules.

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS (RULE 27-1): (a) Beyond any fence and/or white stakes with black tops bounding the course. (Including fence surrounding the driving range and curator's complex.)
  2. STAKES, TREES AND SHURBS (Including guard/stake: If a staked tree or a shrub interferes with a player's stance or the area of his/her intended swing, the player MUST take relief as provided in Rule 24-2b (i). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted. The stakes (and/or guards) are immovable obstructions.
  3. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS: All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole the player may take relief, without penalty, as follows:-
  • is not nearer the hole,
  • avoids such intervention,
  • is not in a hazard or on the putting green.
  1. WATER HAZARDS: Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes and/or lines. Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes and/or lines. Note:- The stakes are immovable obstructions.
  2. GROUND UNDER REPAIR: The following areas are defined as ground under repair:-
  • All Garden beds
  • Those areas the margin of which are defined by white stakes, white lines and/or GUR signage. Play is prohibited from the above areas. Relief MUST be taken in accordance with rule 25-1.
  • Turf Nursery (left of 1 st fairway)- Relief MUST be taken by proceeding to the nearest dropping zone not nearer the hole.
    Note:- All GUR stakes and signs are immovable obstructions.
  1. HOLE COVERS: Metal Hole Covers on Putting Greens are immovable obstructions – Rule 24-2(b) (iii) applies.

 
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE – STROKE PLAY
2 STROKES MATCH PLAY – LOSS OF HOLE
