Local Rules
To be read in conjunction with the rules of golf and any temporary local rules.
- OUT OF BOUNDS (RULE 27-1): (a) Beyond any fence and/or white stakes with black tops bounding the course. (Including fence surrounding the driving range and curator's complex.)
- STAKES, TREES AND SHURBS (Including guard/stake: If a staked tree or a shrub interferes with a player's stance or the area of his/her intended swing, the player MUST take relief as provided in Rule 24-2b (i). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted. The stakes (and/or guards) are immovable obstructions.
- FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS: All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole the player may take relief, without penalty, as follows:-
- is not nearer the hole,
- avoids such intervention,
- is not in a hazard or on the putting green.
- WATER HAZARDS: Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes and/or lines. Lateral water hazards are defined by red stakes and/or lines. Note:- The stakes are immovable obstructions.
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR: The following areas are defined as ground under repair:-
- All Garden beds
- Those areas the margin of which are defined by white stakes, white lines and/or GUR signage. Play is prohibited from the above areas. Relief MUST be taken in accordance with rule 25-1.
- Turf Nursery (left of 1 st fairway)- Relief MUST be taken by proceeding to the nearest dropping zone not nearer the hole.
Note:- All GUR stakes and signs are immovable obstructions.
- HOLE COVERS: Metal Hole Covers on Putting Greens are immovable obstructions – Rule 24-2(b) (iii) applies.
