This is a very fair opening hole. Hopefully players have loosened up and are ready to go. Be aggressive off the tee - hit a driver or 3 wood. Bigger hitters can take on the bunker guarding the corner on the right and reduce the length of the hole. Average length hitters should hit up the left side of the fairway to open up the angle into the green.
The key to the second shot is to be under the flag. Watch for the wind (“check the flag”) as the green is well protected from behind. Otherwise you may be allowing for wind that is not there and you could end up in one of the deepish bunkers either side of the green.
Trouble on the hole exists with OOB down the right side of the fairway and behind the green.
