WELCOME TO WERRIBEE PARK GOLF CLUB

Werribee Park Golf Club is located in the beautiful Werribee South precinct along with some of Werribee’s best tourist attractions, which includes the Mansion Hotel & Spa, Victoria State Rose Gardens, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Shadowfax Winery.

This 18-hole championship course has some breathtaking views of the Werribee River and the Red Cliffs. Founded in 1976, the course proudly offers fully watered fairways and excellent greens.

The open design of the course is counter pointed with strategic plantings of trees. The well-placed bunkers and lateral water hazards are a test even for the expert player.

Course Update & Cart Usage.

The course has experienced significant rain in the last couple of weeks and the clay base is saturated. Even minimal rain on anyone day is having an impact with the fairways being slippery.

To ensure carts can be continued to be used during the next couple of months please adhere to the following rules:

Carts should be driven on the rough and pathways only.

Walk to your ball in the fairway, DO NOT drive your cart to the ball, which will prevent fairway damage.
In particular, refrain from using carts in front of the 5th, 15th and 17th holes, we have roped these areas off.
The responsible use of carts will ensure all can continue to enjoy our course."

Kind regard

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. It was a fun event, played in good spirits and all 4 of my matches were very competitive and could have gone either way. Thanks to my opponents Yvonne, Moonja, Eui Tae and Carol. You all played well and made it very difficult for me. Exactly as it should be. πŸ™‚

LIFT CLEAN & PLACE

In order to clear up any confusion that may be about in respect of the Lift, Clean and Place rule recently implemented we advise the following Rule E-3 Lift Clean and Place.

"When any part of a player's ball touches part of the general area cut to fairway height or less and, the ball has mud on it, the player may take free relief once by firstly marking the spot of the ball then lift, Cleaning and placing the original ball within one handspan from the original spot provided that:

a) The ball is no closer to the hole.

B) The ball cannot be placed on the green.

Please note that a ball coming to rest in, or a players stance being in the area, where the irrigation trenches have been dug continue to be treated as abnormal ground conditions and relief under rule 16 (1b) is to be applied.

Motorised carts can be used tomorrow (Thursday 18th July), carts must be driven on designated paths or in the rough.

Carts are not to be driven across the fairways, members must walk across to their golf ball, this is to preserve our fairways.

Bunkers are still Out of play and are declared GUR where Rule 16 (1) applies according to the USPGA and R&A. [My option (1)].

Robert Gutterson,
Course Director

Due to extreme weather this week, it has been decided that motorised carts will not be allowed on the course tomorrow, Wednesday July 17th. A decision regarding their use for the following days will be made tomorrow.

Additionally, all bunkers will be deemed Ground Under Repair (GUR) until and including Friday 19th July.

Players must take relief outside the bunker, keeping the point of relief no closer to the hole.

Kind regards
